Laura Bottenberg is Research Assistant at the Department of Classics (Ancient Greek) at the University of Tübingen. She holds a PhD from the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and graduated in classics at the University of Heidelberg.

Laura’s current research project focusses on rhetoric and literary aesthetics in Hellenistic poetry.
She has been working on many aspects of Imperial Greek and Latin prose, including subjects such as ecphrasis, aesthetics, ethics, interculturality, intertextuality, and the form of the dialogue.
Her first book, "Friendship and Otherness in Lucian’s Toxaris. A Literary Commentary", is forthcoming (De Gruyter, 2025). She is currently working on a co-edited volume on the transformation of the Platonic dialogue in Imperial and Late Antique Greek and Latin literature. -
